At a large camp, I held a workshop for young people (ages 14-16) on the subject of renewable energies. The focus was on wind power. I built a wind turbine from start to finish together with the teenagers so that they would understand how the parts work together. As a special challenge, I only had a budget of 5 euros per wind turbine.
The following pictures are from the manual and are for illustration purposes only. Please refer to the detailed and richly illustrated PDF construction manual (available in German only), if you too would like to build such a wind generator.

Note: After holding the workshop, Mr Grüner concluded that small groups are better for this type of project. In addition, he recommends working with slightly older youths because the tasks at hand are rather challenging.
He also advises that it will take about ten hours to complete the wind turbine because the parts have to dry between each step.
By the way, Mr Grüner was able to stick to his budget of only 5 euros per wind turbine thanks to the large order quantity!
