[101] Voting at the exhibition
Author: Eytor Sigurbergsson, Oslo, Norway
If feet could talk...
For the exhibition "Klima X" - an exhibition about Global Warming - in the Norwegian Technical Museum in Oslo, the Icelandic Designer Eytor Sigurbergsson designed Voting Stations to be used during the exhibition.
He sends us the following photos from the show:
The exhibition as a whole is very pictographic: the exhibition room stands under several centimeters of water...! All visitors are given a pair of rubber boots at the start of the tour.
In the middle of the room stands a 5 meter screen which belongs to the so-called Voting Station for exhibition visitors.
There are two footprints on the console: one green, one red. With either the left foot on the red footprint or the right foot on the green footprint, each participant makes his negative or positive vote. For every question, one is allowed 20 seconds to consider. After that, the results for the current group are shown on the screen. In addition, the consolidated results since the start of the show are shown.
How does it work? The console is fit with magnetic sensors and the boots are fit with SuperMagnets. The sensors register which footprint was used. Now we can finally speak out with our feet without getting violent!
Have you found an interesting use for our super magnets? Send us a description! If we publish it on our website, you will receive a supermagnete voucher with a value of EUR 30. Further Information
