Why does the webshop look so "home made"?

Because we are software engineers! :-)
When we programmed the webshop, we set the following priorities:
  • Functionality, i.e., Shopping Cart and order process are easy to use and understandable.
  • Price and product quality
  • Selection
  • Design
We find contents and function to be much more important than design - and it's obvious. We consciously avoided Flash (thank God!), Applets and "hip" graphics. For these reasons, the webshop functions beautifully (don't you think?), pages load quickly and it's not so easy to "get lost". The money we have saved on design we have instead chosen to invest in customer service that lives up to its name. :-)
